Philippine Airlines Launches New Non-Stop Manila-Chicago Route

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) made a significant announcement on Thursday, April 16, 2026, revealing plans to launch a non-stop service between Manila and Chicago. This new route will commence operations on November 9, 2026, with flights scheduled three times per week.

Enhanced Connectivity to the U.S. Midwest

PAL President Richard Nuttall emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion in an official statement. "Chicago is considered one of the premier hubs in the United States, and our entry into this vibrant city will provide direct connectivity to the Midwest," he said. The service aims to create vital links between key regional destinations in the U.S. and major domestic markets in the Philippines through PAL's Manila hub.

Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details

The airline will utilize the modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft for this route, offering enhanced passenger comfort and efficiency. Flights are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Departures from Manila will occur in the afternoon, with arrivals at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport in the afternoon local time. Return flights will operate on the same days, departing Chicago in the evening.

Cargo Capabilities and Network Expansion

Beyond passenger service, this new route strengthens PAL's cargo operations. It enables more efficient shipments to the United States Midwest, connecting seamlessly to the airline's broader cargo network. This development supports both commercial and logistical needs between the two regions.

Strategic Growth in U.S. Markets

Chicago becomes PAL's eighth destination in the United States and its territories, joining an established network that includes Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Guam, and Saipan. This launch is part of a broader expansion of the airline's trans-Pacific operations, reflecting PAL's commitment to enhancing global connectivity for Filipino travelers and international visitors alike.
