PHLPost Ramps Up Services in Eastern Mindanao with Valentine's Campaign and Expanded Caravans

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is significantly enhancing its service offerings across Eastern Mindanao, according to officials who announced the initiatives on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Acting Marketing Chief Llylynn Mendoza detailed a comprehensive strategy that includes a special Valentine's delivery campaign, expanded Postal ID caravans, and improved freight and courier operations. These efforts are designed to address contemporary delivery and logistics requirements while maintaining affordability and accessibility for the general public.

Express Mo, Love Mo: Valentine's Delivery Initiative

In celebration of Valentine's Day, PHLPost has introduced its Express Mo, Love Mo campaign, which provides delivery services for flowers and cakes within Davao City and surrounding regions. Mendoza explained that the campaign, which commenced in February, allows customers to either place orders directly through PHLPost or bring their own items for delivery. The service area extends from Poblacion to Barangay Ma-a and Buhangin, with additional delivery options available from PHLPost branches in Toril and Mintal to key locations such as General Santos, Tagum, Cotabato, Koronadal, and Digos.

Delivery fees are set at a starting rate of P150, making the service accessible to a wide audience. Packages remain budget-friendly, with bento cakes beginning at P350 (including delivery) and flower arrangements starting from P500. Mendoza highlighted that a budget of approximately P1,000 can cover both flowers and cake, offering a complete Valentine's package. Orders can be conveniently placed using QR codes available at PHLPost offices, streamlining the process for customers.

Postal ID Services and Community Outreach Caravans

PHLPost continues to offer the Postal ID, a valid government-issued primary identification card that holds equivalence to a driver's license, passport, or national ID. Regular application processing typically takes three to four weeks, although rush processing remains temporarily suspended. Applicants are required to provide a birth certificate and barangay clearance, with married women needing to submit a marriage certificate as well.

To improve accessibility, PHLPost has scheduled several Postal ID caravans across Eastern Mindanao. These include events on February 9 at North Davao College, February 19 at the Calinan Post Office, and March 3 in Dahali, Davao del Norte. In 2025, PHLPost issued approximately 58,000 Postal IDs in the region, covering Regions 11 and 12 along with parts of Surigao. Mendoza attributed this success to extensive outreach efforts, including caravans and mall-based information drives. She expressed gratitude to media partners for their role in amplifying these initiatives and reaching a broader audience.

Enhanced Freight and Courier Operations

PHLPost is also strengthening its freight and courier services to cater to both government agencies and private clients. Agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) already depend on PHLPost for their logistics needs. The postal corporation offers both domestic and international parcel delivery, with express services promising faster turnaround times. Mendoza recommended the express service for urgent deliveries, noting that it typically takes about three working days, with rates for Mindanao shipments starting at P60.

Modernizing the Postal Service for Competitive Edge

PHLPost is actively working to transform its image from one of slow delivery to that of a modern, competitive logistics provider. With the introduction of express pouches and courier services that rival private firms like LBC, J&T, and JRS, the agency aims to position itself as a reliable option for various needs. Customers can send a diverse range of items, from flowers and customized bouquets to practical goods such as rice, making PHLPost a versatile one-stop service for personal and corporate requirements.

From Love Express to Logistics Expansion: A Community-Focused Approach

From Valentine's surprises to essential identification services and freight delivery, PHLPost is expanding its community role in Eastern Mindanao. Mendoza assured the public that the postal service remains a dependable partner, offering affordable, fast, and accessible services across Davao and neighboring areas. Through initiatives like the Express Mo, Love Mo campaign and enhanced courier operations, PHLPost is redefining itself not merely as a traditional post office but as a modern logistics provider ready to meet both personal and business demands.
