Balduman Family's Prince Anthony: A Beacon of Hope and Achievement
In the heart of Bohol, the Balduman family continues to bring immense pride to their community through the remarkable achievements of Prince Anthony C. Balduman. Recognized as the 2025 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Bohol Provincial Exemplary Child and Regional Exemplary Child for Central Visayas, Prince Anthony has not only excelled in dancesport but also embodies the values of discipline, hard work, and gratitude instilled by the government's flagship social welfare initiative.
From Television Triumph to Business Expansion
In November 2025, Prince Anthony, alongside three other 4Ps exemplary children, participated in the National Children's Congress held in Metro Manila. During this event, they joined the popular television game show Family Feud, where their team clinched the grand prize of P200,000. Prince Anthony received a share of P50,000 from this victory.
Rather than spending the money on immediate needs, Prince Anthony and his family made a strategic decision to invest the funds into expanding their sari-sari store. According to his mother, Norminda, the Family Development Sessions (FDS) conducted under the 4Ps program played a pivotal role in this choice. These sessions, particularly the lessons on financial literacy, taught the family effective money management skills, empowering them to use the windfall wisely.
The game show win transformed into a golden opportunity to strengthen their livelihood. The Balduman family, who also rely on farming, established a larger store adjacent to their home. This expansion aims to increase their income and better serve their neighbors, showcasing a practical application of the financial principles learned through 4Ps.
Dancesport Dominance and Unwavering Passion
Beyond their entrepreneurial success, Prince Anthony has continued to flourish in the world of sports. In 2025, he secured a silver medal at the PDSF-WDSF Cebu Open, a gold medal at the Sandugo National Invitational Dancesport Competition, and another gold medal at the Bohol Provincial Athletic Meet. These victories earned him a spot to compete in the prestigious Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA).
Despite facing financial challenges in the past, such as difficulties affording costumes and shoes for dancesport, Prince Anthony never considered giving up on his dreams. With unwavering support from his parents and coaches, he persevered, turning obstacles into stepping stones for his passion.
Community Recognition and Lasting Inspiration
In recognition of his outstanding accomplishments, the Municipality of Calape awarded Prince Anthony a Resolution of Commendation. Today, he remains a source of inspiration for other youth, encouraging them to believe in themselves and pursue their aspirations relentlessly.
The Balduman family's story is a testament to the transformative power of programs like 4Ps, which not only provide financial assistance but also foster skills and resilience. Prince Anthony's journey from a 4Ps beneficiary to a dancesport champion and budding entrepreneur highlights the potential within every child to overcome adversity and achieve greatness.
