Lazatin's Annual Student Excellence Awards in Pampanga

Pampanga Representative Carmelo 'Pogi' Lazatin Jr. Announces 2026 Medals of Excellence for Outstanding Students

Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo 'Pogi' Lazatin Jr. has revealed that outstanding students in public and private elementary and high schools across Mabalacat City, Angeles City, and Magalang town will be honored with Medals of Excellence this year. This prestigious award program, which has been an annual tradition since 2019 when Lazatin first served as Angeles City mayor, aims to recognize the top academic and leadership talents in the region.

A Legacy of Educational Recognition

The Medals of Excellence program is a continuation of a long-standing initiative originally implemented during the tenure of Lazatin's late father, Carmelo 'Tarzan' Lazatin. The elder Lazatin served as Angeles City Mayor from 1998 to 2007 and as Pampanga First District Representative from 1987 to 1998 and again from 2007 to 2013. This family legacy underscores a deep commitment to fostering educational excellence and community leadership in Pampanga.

Rigorous Selection Criteria for Awardees

Awardees will be selected from the Top 10% of graduating students in their respective schools, with a comprehensive assessment based on multiple criteria. The selection process includes:

Implementation and Timeline for the 2026 Awards

School administrators are required to submit their chosen awardees to Lazatin's office by March 13, 2026. Following this submission period, the distribution of the Medals of Excellence will commence after the graduation ceremonies in the participating schools, ensuring timely recognition for the students' achievements.

This initiative not only celebrates academic success but also encourages holistic development by valuing leadership and community involvement. It serves as a motivational tool for students across Pampanga to strive for excellence in all areas of their education.
