Iloilo Universities Achieve Perfect Scores in Nursing Board Exams
The Professional Regulation Commission announced outstanding results for the November 2025 Nursing Licensure Examination, with three Iloilo-based universities achieving perfect 100 percent passing rates. West Visayas State University-La Paz, Central Philippine University, and St. Paul University Iloilo demonstrated exceptional performance in the national examination held on November 6 and 7, 2025.
According to the PRC's November 27, 2025 announcement, the examination recorded 40,692 successful passers out of 45,192 examinees nationwide. The commission noted that results for six examinees were temporarily withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under examination regulations.
WVSU's Historic Achievement with 36 Topnotchers
West Visayas State University-La Paz delivered one of its most impressive performances in institutional history. The university saw all 122 of its examinees pass the challenging licensure examination, with an unprecedented 36 graduates securing positions in the top 10 rankings.
University records indicate this represents the highest number of topnotchers since WVSU began consistently maintaining perfect passing rates. The achievement underscores the institution's sustained excellence in nursing education and preparation.
Leading the exceptional performance were two WVSU graduates who tied for the highest honor. Johannah Marie Gerardo Acevedo and George Wilson Tan Escordial both achieved Rank 1 with identical percentage ratings of 93.80.

The university's remarkable showing included multiple graduates across all top ranking positions:
Rank 4 (93.20%) featured Ashleigh Gea Abangan, Tisha Belle Paciente, and Yi-Lin Wang. Rank 5 (93%) included Joanette Dalipe, Bianca Belle Grometes, Sharmaine Grace Navarro, Bianca Marie Rico, Ma. Stella Salomes, and Aleia Nichole Tayo.
At Rank 6 (92.80%), successful examinees were Patricia Aubrey De Justo, Krystel Anne Nicole De la Cruz, Aurela Elgario, and Airis Abegail Serantes. Rank 7 (92.60%) recognized Frederene Javelona and Gwyneth Tiongson.
The Rank 8 (92.40%) achievers included Glenmari Joiz Amedo, Charlize Baltazar, Michaela Catayas, Addison Jovann Garrido, Vince Regil Gravanza, Gayle Gumbao, Dvien Lehn Pacheco, and Berna Joy Sorillo.
Rank 9 (92.20%) honors went to Althea De La Cruz, Kale Ezpeleta, Nafritz Floyd Matucan, Angelique Mae Medina, Franchezca Leann Rivera, Ella Loevie Sugata-on, and Margie Tanato.
Finally, Rank 10 (92%) included Hyle David Daduya, Shem Panganiban, Anton Miguel Perucho, and Angel Lou Rala from WVSU.
Other Iloilo Institutions Excel
Central Philippine University matched the perfect performance with all 215 of its examinees successfully passing the licensure examination. Similarly, St. Paul University Iloilo achieved a 100 percent rating with 75 passers out of 75 examinees.
SPU Iloilo also celebrated individual excellence, with Francel Juliana Dapiton Develos securing Rank 10 with a 92 percent rating. The University of San Agustin likewise produced a top performer, with Angelica Basco Ciudadano earning a top 10 slot with her 92 percent score.
Meanwhile, Iloilo Doctors' College marked a significant milestone as Batch Lucinia celebrated their new Registered Nurses. The institution achieved an impressive 99.16 percent passing rate with an overall retaker rate of 96.33 percent.
