Teachers and administrative staff of the Department of Education (DepEd) in Mandaue City are celebrating an early financial boost as their year-end bonuses, regular salaries, and cash gifts have been credited to their accounts.
Funds Successfully Released to Employees
According to DepEd Mandaue Administrative Officer Edgar Espina, the disbursement process began on Friday, November 14, 2025. He confirmed that the funds from the National Government are now accessible to employees via their ATM accounts.
"Cash gifts, our year-end bonus, and the salaries of our teachers are now in their accounts," Espina stated. "The money began coming in yesterday, and more were credited today (Nov. 15), which is definitely good news."
Additional LGU Cash Gift Scheduled for December
Espina provided a crucial clarification for the recipients. The cash gift that has just been released is distinct from the P10,000 cash gift funded by the Mandaue City Local Government Unit (LGU).
"That one will also be released this December because it comes from the LGU," he explained. "We are already preparing the payroll so we can release it by the third week of December, before the Christmas vacation."
He highlighted that the early release of the national benefits was made possible this year. Updated guidelines allowed the division to include the year-end bonus, salary, and cash gift in the first payroll, ensuring teachers received the funds well ahead of schedule. The official deadline for releasing these benefits is no later than November 15.
Further Incentives and Immediate Use of Funds
The financial support is timely for many. Espina noted that some employees affected by Typhoon Tino are expected to use a portion of their benefits for essential home repairs.
Looking ahead, more incentives are on the horizon for the DepEd workforce. The Personnel Incentive is scheduled for distribution in December. Furthermore, the Service Recognition Incentive will be released once the Office of the President issues its official announcement.
