Teachers and administrative personnel working for the Department of Education (DepEd) in Mandaue City have started receiving their much-anticipated year-end financial benefits, confirmed by DepEd Mandaue Administrative Officer Dr. Edgar Espina.
Financial Benefits Credited to Accounts
Dr. Espina announced that the funds, encompassing the year-end bonus, regular salary, and a cash gift, were successfully credited to employees' ATM accounts. The process began on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, providing immediate financial relief to the educators and staff.
"Cash gifts, our year-end bonus, and the salaries of our teachers are now in their accounts," Espina stated. He expressed his satisfaction, noting that the money started arriving on November 12 and continued through the following day, which he described as "definitely good news" for the recipients.
Separate Cash Gift from City Government
Espina took care to clarify that these payments from the National Government are entirely separate from an additional P10,000 cash gift provided by the Mandaue City Local Government Unit (LGU).
"The P10,000 is separate. That one will also be released this December because it comes from the LGU," he explained. The DepEd division is already preparing the payroll for this separate incentive, with plans for distribution set for the third week of December, ensuring it arrives before the Christmas vacation begins.
Adherence to Guidelines and Future Incentives
The administrative officer highlighted that the release of the year-end bonus and cash gifts adheres to the national guideline requiring distribution no later than November 15. This year, an updated instruction allowed the Mandaue division to efficiently include the bonus, salary, and cash gift in the first payroll cycle, making the funds available to teachers earlier than in some previous years.
These timely funds are expected to be particularly helpful for some personnel whose homes were affected by Typhoon Tino, with a portion of the benefits likely to be allocated for essential home repairs.
Looking ahead, Espina confirmed that the Personnel Incentive (PI) is scheduled for release in December. Meanwhile, the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) will be distributed once the official directive is issued by the Office of the President.
"We are glad our teachers can now enjoy their bonus, salary, and cash gifts. It's something they truly deserve," Espina added, concluding the positive announcement for the DepEd Mandaue community.
