DepEd Mandaue Releases Year-End Bonuses, Salaries to Teachers
Mandaue Teachers Receive Year-End Bonuses and Salaries

Teachers and staff under the Department of Education (DepEd) in Mandaue City have started receiving their year-end bonuses, salaries, and cash gifts, according to an announcement from DepEd Mandaue Administrative Officer Dr. Edgar Espina.

Early Financial Relief for Educators

Dr. Espina confirmed that the funds have already been credited to employees' ATM accounts, with the process beginning on November 13 and continuing through November 14. The comprehensive package includes one month of year-end bonus, regular salary, and cash gifts from the national government, all accessible to teaching and non-teaching personnel.

"The cash gifts, our year-end bonus, and the teachers' salaries are now in their accounts. The money started coming in yesterday, and more credits have been made today, which is truly good news," Dr. Espina stated during the announcement.

Separate Cash Gifts from Different Sources

Dr. Espina clarified that the cash gift funded by the national government is distinct from the P10,000 cash gift coming from the Mandaue City Local Government Unit (LGU). The LGU's financial incentive is scheduled for release in the third week of December, before the Christmas break.

"The P10,000 is separate. That will be released this December because it comes from the LGU. We are already preparing the payroll so we can release it in the third week of December, before the Christmas vacation," he explained.

Timely Distribution and Additional Benefits

The distribution of year-end bonuses and cash gifts must be completed by November 15, as mandated by government regulations. This year, updated instructions allowed the division to include the bonus, salary, and cash gift in the first payroll, ensuring earlier access to the funds for teachers.

Some employees affected by Typhoon Tino are expected to use part of their benefits to purchase materials for home repairs. Beyond these current releases, Dr. Espina noted that the Personnel Incentive (PI) will be distributed in December, while the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) will be released once the Office of the President issues the official announcement.

"We are happy that our teachers can now enjoy their bonus, salary, and cash gifts. This is something they truly deserve," Dr. Espina concluded, emphasizing the department's commitment to supporting its workforce during the holiday season.
