Colombia's Catalina Duque Wins Miss International 2025 Crown

The Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, witnessed a spectacular event on the evening of Thursday, November 27, as Catalina Duque from Colombia was crowned Miss International 2025. The prestigious beauty pageant saw Duque triumph over 79 other candidates from around the globe in a night filled with glamour and anticipation.

Runners-Up and Philippine Representation

The new queen was not the only one to receive honors. The first runner-up position was awarded to Yollanda Chimbarami of Zimbabwe, while Paola Guzman Sanchez of Bolivia secured the title of second runner-up. Melliza Xaviera Yulian of Indonesia was named the third runner-up.

Representing the Philippines, Myrna Esguerra delivered a strong performance, achieving the position of fourth runner-up. Her placement continues the Philippines' notable streak in the international pageant scene.

A Royal Transition and Historic Context

The coronation ceremony reached its peak when the outgoing titleholder, Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy of Vietnam, who was Miss International 2024, gracefully passed the crown to her successor, Catalina Duque.

Had Myrna Esguerra won the competition, she would have become the seventh Filipina to claim the Miss International title, joining an elite group of previous Filipino winners. The legendary titleholders from the Philippines are:

  • Gemma Cruz-Araneta (1964)
  • Aurora Pijuan (1970)
  • Melanie Marquez (1979)
  • Precious Lara Quigaman (2005)
  • Bea Rose Santiago (2013)
  • Kylie Verzosa (2016)

The event solidifies the global appeal of the Miss International pageant and highlights the continued strong showing of Philippine representatives on the world stage.
