Barbie Imperial is facing scrutiny from netizens who accuse her of imitating Sarah Lahbati, the ex-wife of her boyfriend Richard Gutierrez. The controversy erupted after Barbie shared a photo of her SUV on social media, just days after Lahbati posted about her own new luxury car.
Netizens Cry Foul
Barbie captioned her post, “big toy for a small girl.” However, the comment section quickly filled with accusations of copying. One user wrote, “Copycat. Sarah just flexed hers and now you’re flexing yours too.” Another commented, “Sarah Lahbati, she is your fan because she copied your posts.”
Barbie Fires Back
Rather than staying silent, Barbie directly addressed the criticism. She explained, “I was paid to post this for Ridemax.” She further clarified, “I had my Lc250 since last year. This was shot just last month and I was told to post this pic this week. I think I’m also allowed to post my car sponsorships. Don’t make it an issue.” She ended her response with the acronym TRC, which stands for “The Real Car.”
The actress’s defense aims to put the controversy to rest, asserting that her post was a legitimate sponsorship and not an attempt to copy anyone.
