Young Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix has revealed his ambitions to transition from acting to directing during a recent press conference for "KMJS' Gabi ng Lagim The Movie" held in Cebu City.
Embracing New Challenges On Screen
During the press event on November 16, 2025, Tanfelix explained that he immediately accepted his role in the film because it presented a unique opportunity. What made this project particularly special was that it marked his first time portraying an occupational role as a seaman.
The dedicated actor took his preparation seriously, thoroughly studying the script and conducting extensive research about the life and work of seafarers. "I carefully read the script and researched what the proper work of a seafarer is like so I could properly portray the role," Tanfelix shared with journalists.
Learning From Behind the Scenes
While filming the movie, Tanfelix demonstrated his growing interest in filmmaking by actively engaging with directors and crew members. He frequently asked questions about their working methods and sought tips on how films are made.
"During our movie shoot, I was very enthusiastic about asking the directors how they work and for tips on how to make films," the actor revealed. He expressed excitement about coming to the set each day, noting that the directors and staff were always helpful and willing to guide him through his inquiries.
A Vision for Future Projects
Tanfelix's experience on set has solidified his desire to expand his creative horizons beyond acting. He expressed hope that the time will come when he won't just appear on screen but will also contribute to creating films from behind the scenes.
