In a significant shift for Philippine television, the Kapamilya Channel is set to find a new broadcast home on ALLTV starting next year. This move marks a major realignment in the country's media landscape following the conclusion of a key partnership.
New Broadcast Partnership Announced
Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS), the company behind ALLTV, has officially secured a license from ABS-CBN to air the Kapamilya Channel. The new arrangement is scheduled to take effect on January 2, 2026.
This licensing deal means that audiences tuning into ALLTV will regain access to a full slate of popular ABS-CBN content. Viewers can expect to see their favorite shows, including primetime hits like FPJ's Batang Quiapo and Roja, as well as daily staples such as It's Showtime, ASAP, and the trusted news program TV Patrol.
Background and Industry Reshuffle
This transition follows the decision by TV5 to terminate its Content Agreement with ABS-CBN, effective the same date: January 2, 2026. ABS-CBN has confirmed that it has settled all its obligations with TV5 and its parent company, Mediaquest, in accordance with their agreements.
The network expressed gratitude to Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan and TV5 for providing a platform for ABS-CBN programs since 2021, a period following the non-renewal of ABS-CBN's broadcast franchise.
It's important to note that select prime ABS-CBN programs will continue to be available on the A2Z channel. Furthermore, specific shows like It's Showtime and Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab 2.0 will maintain their presence on the GMA Network.
Strengthening an Existing Alliance
The partnership between AMBS and ABS-CBN is not entirely new. The two entities have been collaborators since 2024, with ALLTV already carrying selected ABS-CBN programs. This included content under the Jeepney TV brand, alongside the daily broadcasts of It's Showtime and TV Patrol.
With this new, comprehensive license for the Kapamilya Channel, the alliance deepens significantly. ABS-CBN reaffirmed its commitment to serving Filipino audiences, stating its mission to bring stories, news, and entertainment that deliver love, joy, and hope to families across the nation.
This strategic move ensures that the vast library and ongoing production of Kapamilya content will remain accessible on free television, solidifying ALLTV's position as a major player in the industry and offering viewers continued access to beloved programs.
