A tragic road accident occurred in Barangay Poblacion, Alicia, Bohol at 8:31 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, when a Ceres Bus and a tourist van collided at an intersection, resulting in one death and 13 injuries.
Victim Identified as Motorcycle Driver
The fatality was identified as Alberto Muring, 48, a resident of Purok 6, Barangay Bulawan, Mabini, Bohol. Muring, who was driving a motorcycle, died instantly due to severe injuries sustained in the crash.
According to the investigation conducted by the Alicia Municipal Police Station led by Police Staff Sergeant Johnas Rey Bersano, the Ceres Bus, driven by Luis Andoy, 53, of Purok 1, Barangay Abucay Norte, Calape, Bohol, was traveling from the Alicia market towards Candijay.
Sequence of Events
Upon reaching the intersection, the bus collided with a tourist van that came from Sunnybrooks Street, driven by Lyle Lepiten, 38, of Catagbacan, Loon. The impact caused the bus to lose control and hit the motorcycle on which Muring was riding. Muring was waiting for his wife at the time of the accident.
Two passengers from the Ceres Bus and 11 passengers from the tourist van sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
