The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 is urgently seeking volunteers in Cebu to assist in preparing and distributing warm, nutritious meals to individuals and families suffering from severe hunger as part of its Walang Gutom Kitchen initiative.
Call for Compassionate Volunteers
In a public announcement, the agency encouraged individuals and organizations to dedicate their time and talents to support this community-based feeding program, which provides regular meals to vulnerable sectors.
“The Walang Gutom Kitchen in Cebu is looking for compassionate volunteers who are willing to share their time and talents in helping serve warm, nutritious meals to individuals and families experiencing involuntary hunger,” the DSWD 7 stated.
Location and Impact
The facility, located at Pier 4 in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, is part of DSWD's effort to address hunger through community-driven solutions and to promote volunteerism among individuals, organizations, and partner groups.
From June 22 to July 5, 2026, the Walang Gutom Kitchen in Cebu has already served 3,317 free meals in its first two weeks of operation.
Volunteer Requirements and Registration
