Tulaoc Bridge Phase 1 Nears Completion with Girder Installation

The first phase of the Tulaoc Bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction project is nearing completion after girder launching activities commenced, the local government unit (LGU) of San Simon announced.

On Monday, June 15, the LGU stated that the installation of girders represents a significant milestone, as these components form the bridge's primary structural framework before further major construction can proceed.

Phase 2 and Completion Timeline

The LGU noted that Phase 2 of the project is expected to begin in the coming weeks, covering additional construction activities necessary for the bridge's completion.

The local government appealed for public understanding regarding the inconvenience caused by the construction. "Hinihiling po namin ang inyong pang-unawa at pag-iingat habang nagpapatuloy ang mga gawain sa lugar," the LGU said.

Background and Delays

The Tulaoc Bridge was closed to motorists and pedestrians in February 2025 to facilitate restoration. The project, implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways Region III, was initially scheduled for completion and reopening in January 2026. However, the target date was later moved to February 2026 to allow for remaining works.

As of June 2026, the bridge remains closed while construction continues. No updated completion date has been announced.
