The Universal Cultural Foundation Inc. (UCFI) and NUServe, the corporate social responsibility arm of NUSTAR Resort Cebu, have delivered significant emergency relief to communities in Cebu. The organizations formally handed over the first two batches of in-kind donations to the Cebu City Government in ceremonies held at Cebu City Hall on November 17 and December 1, 2025.
₱5 Million Fund Activated for Critical Needs
A total budget of ₱5 million has been activated for this emergency relief program. The funds are dedicated to procuring essential goods identified as priority needs by the local government. The relief distribution is being executed in three planned batches, with the final batch scheduled for release before the end of the year.
First Batch Received by Mayor Archival
The initial delivery was personally received by Mayor Nestor Archival. This batch included 400 care packages containing essential food and hygiene items. To provide immediate shelter and protection, the donation also comprised 400 emergency tents and 800 mosquito nets for distribution to affected communities.
Succeeding Batches to Aid Recovery and Rebuilding
While the first batch focused on immediate humanitarian needs, the succeeding deliveries have a broader scope. The second and third batches include additional food provisions alongside construction materials. These materials are intended to support the rebuilding of structures in municipalities that were heavily impacted, marking a shift from pure relief to recovery support.
The procured items under the ₱5 million budget cover a wide range of necessities:
- Solar lights
- Emergency tents
- Food supplies
- Daily necessities
- Hygiene kits
- Mosquito nets
UCFI and NUServe have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the ongoing relief and recovery efforts across both Cebu City and Cebu Province. This initiative reinforces their shared mission of fostering community care and resilience, with pledges to continue such support through current and future programs.
