The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Friday, June 26, 2026, that the death toll from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Maasim, Sarangani on June 8, 2026 has increased to 81.

Death and Missing Toll Breakdown

According to the NDRRMC situational report, 60 deaths were recorded in Soccsksargen, while 21 deaths occurred in the Davao Region. Additionally, 31 individuals remain missing—18 from Soccsksargen and 13 from Davao.

Affected Population and Displacement

The earthquake affected 382,269 families, equivalent to 1,633,161 individuals, across 620 barangays in Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao, Soccsksargen, and Bangsamoro. Of these, 5,496 families or 23,568 persons remain displaced.

Assistance and Damage Assessment

The NDRRMC stated that over P470 million worth of assistance has been provided to the affected population. The disaster council reported that 15,429 houses were declared destroyed, while 71,629 houses were damaged. Infrastructure damage was estimated at P1,356,034,440.41.
