Naga City Relocates 17 Families After Uling Landslide

Emergency Response Activated After Uling Landslide

The local government of Naga City has launched an immediate response following a landslide that struck Purok Kaimito 1 in Barangay Uling on November 10, 2025. Seventeen families affected by the natural disaster are now receiving comprehensive support from city authorities, including temporary shelter and financial assistance for rebuilding their lives.

Comprehensive Assistance Package for Affected Families

Mayor Valdemar Chiong announced that each of the 17 affected families will receive between P150,000 and P160,000 in financial assistance specifically designated for purchasing construction materials. The local government has already identified a relocation site where these families can rebuild their homes safely.

According to the mayor's announcement, each house constructed at the relocation site will measure 20 square meters, providing adequate living space for displaced families. The swift response aims to enable families to begin reconstruction immediately without financial constraints.

Wider Evacuation Efforts and Safety Warnings

The city's emergency response extends beyond the immediate landslide victims. Authorities have already relocated more than 200 individuals from Purok Marmol and three other residents to safer areas as a precautionary measure. Additionally, three residents who sustained injuries during the incident have received financial assistance and are currently receiving medical treatment at local healthcare facilities.

Mayor Chiong issued a strong warning to all city residents, particularly those living in mountainous areas, to remain vigilant for any signs of ground movement. "Residents should constantly monitor their surroundings and immediately report even minor ground cracks or irregularities," the mayor emphasized.

Chiong further explained the critical importance of early evacuation in preventing casualties. "If they notice any abnormalities, they should report it immediately so we can evacuate. We will find a safer place for them," he stated, underscoring the city's commitment to proactive disaster prevention rather than reactive response.

The local government continues to monitor the situation closely while providing ongoing support to all affected residents, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to disaster management and community safety in Naga City.
