Pampanga Aids Rescue After Building Collapse in Angeles

The Pampanga Provincial Government, acting on the directive of Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, has mobilized personnel and equipment to support search, rescue, and retrieval efforts at the site of a collapsed under-construction nine-storey building in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City.

Heavy Equipment Deployed

Pineda ordered the deployment of heavy machinery, including a dump truck and a crane, to assist in clearing debris and expediting retrieval operations as responders continue to search for individuals believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.

Additional Support from PDRRMC

The Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) also dispatched extra search-and-rescue equipment to help accelerate debris-clearing activities and retrieval operations.

Medical Teams on the Ground

The provincial government announced the deployment of doctors and medical teams from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and Provincial Hospital Clark, along with responders from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), to provide immediate medical assistance to victims.

Casualty Report

According to the latest report from the Incident Command Post as of 6 p.m. on May 24, a total of 47 individuals have been recorded as victims of the disaster. Of these, 26 have been rescued, while 20 remain missing and are believed to be trapped under the debris. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) confirmed four fatalities as of 11 a.m. on Monday.

Public Advisory

Authorities have advised the public to avoid the vicinity of the collapse to ensure the safety of responders and to prevent any disruptions to ongoing rescue operations.
