A 55-year-old woman from Argao, Cebu, has died after a tragic accident on Tuesday evening, November 25, 2025. The victim, identified as Criselda Medrano Olloves, a resident of Barangay Taloot in the same city, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Carcar City.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The unfortunate event occurred at approximately 6:20 PM along Ylaya Road in Barangay Taloot. According to initial reports from the Argao Municipal Police Station, the victim was fishing when a large tree branch suddenly fell.
The branch struck Criselda Medrano Olloves on the head and body, causing her to lose consciousness immediately. Bystanders who witnessed the shocking incident rushed to her aid and quickly transported her to the nearest medical facility.
Response and Investigation
The police were first alerted to the incident by the victim's 25-year-old daughter, who reported what had happened to her mother. Despite the efforts of those who witnessed the accident and the medical team, Dr. Nicanor Duarte declared the victim dead upon arrival at the hospital.
