The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) announced that warm winds from the Pacific, locally known as Easterlies, will continue to affect large parts of the country, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms.
In its 24-hour forecast, Pagasa said that Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sorsogon, Masbate, Palawan, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Basilan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
These conditions may cause flash floods or landslides due to moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or lightning due to the Easterlies.
The Easterlies refer to warm and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean that bring moisture and can cause sudden rains, especially in the afternoon or evening.
The weather bureau expects these conditions to affect the country for the next two to three days.
Pagasa warned that severe thunderstorms could still result in floods or landslides in local areas.
Winds across the country will remain light to moderate, while seas will be slight to moderate with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
