Pagasa Forecasts Fair Weekend Weather, Eyes Potential December Typhoon
Fair PH Weekend Weather, Potential Typhoon by December

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has announced a forecast of predominantly fair and warm weather for the archipelago this weekend. While the days will be mostly hot, residents should still be prepared for sudden, isolated rain showers.

Weekend Weather Outlook: Heat and Isolated Rains

According to weather specialist Mark Gales, the country can expect stable conditions in the coming days. "This weekend, we're expecting generally fair weather conditions, so it will be mostly hot throughout the day. But we still have chances of localized rains," Gales stated. He clarified that these rains would not be widespread but would result from localized thunderstorms that can develop quickly, especially in the afternoons or evenings.

No Immediate Threats, But Watchful for December

In a reassuring update, Pagasa confirmed that it is not currently monitoring any low-pressure area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The previous weather disturbance, Typhoon Verbena, has already moved away and made landfall in Vietnam.

However, Gales shared a projection based on the agency's weather models. "As of now, we are not monitoring any LPA or weather disturbance. However, based on our weather model, there is a low to moderate chance that an LPA may form and possibly develop into a typhoon by the second week of December," he explained. This potential development is something Pagasa will be watching closely as the month progresses.

Calm Conditions for Now

Despite the possibility of a new weather system forming in the coming weeks, the immediate forecast remains positive. Gales assured the public that the weekend will be characterized by calm and stable weather. The primary interruption to the fair conditions will be the typical, short-lived localized thunderstorms common in the tropics.

This forecast, issued on November 29, 2025, provides Filipinos with a clear picture to plan their outdoor activities while remaining aware of the dynamic nature of the country's climate.
