Several parts of the country experienced intense heat and humidity today, April 6, 2026, as the heat index reached dangerous levels in two areas, according to the latest forecast and official data from the State Weather Bureau. Dumangas, Iloilo and Catarman, Northern Samar recorded the highest heat index, hitting 42°C, which falls into the agency's danger category, covering temperatures from 42°C to 51°C.

Health Risks and Public Advisories

Under this danger category, the State Weather Bureau has issued warnings about a high likelihood of heat-related illnesses, including heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke, particularly with prolonged exposure to the sun. The bureau continues to advise the public, especially in areas under danger and extreme caution levels, to stay hydrated and avoid extended outdoor activities during peak sunlight hours to prevent health complications.

Extreme Caution in Eight Additional Areas

Meanwhile, eight other locations were placed under the extreme caution category, with temperatures ranging from 33°C to 41°C. CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur and Guiuan, Eastern Samar recorded a heat index of 41°C. Six additional locations experienced a felt temperature of 40°C, including Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Aparri and Tuguegarao City in Cagayan; Sangley Point, Cavite; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; and Cuyo, Palawan.
