The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a public weather forecast indicating that several parts of the country will experience cloudy skies and intermittent rains accompanied by thunder and lightning this Tuesday. According to the state weather bureau's 4 a.m. update, these conditions are expected to affect various regions, with localized thunderstorms potentially bringing scattered precipitation.
High-Pressure Ridge Impacts Northern and Central Luzon
PAGASA reports that a ridge of high-pressure area (HPA) is extending over Northern and Central Luzon. This weather system consists of cold and dry air that inhibits the formation of large cloud masses, thereby reducing the likelihood of widespread rainfall in these areas. However, this does not eliminate the possibility of isolated weather disturbances.
Localized Thunderstorms in Metro Manila and Other Regions
In contrast, Metro Manila and other parts of the country may experience localized thunderstorms. These could result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rains or thunderstorm activity. Residents in these areas should be prepared for sudden downpours and potential disruptions due to the unpredictable nature of such weather events.
Wind and Sea Conditions Across the Nation
Additionally, Northern and Central Luzon, along with the rest of the country, are forecasted to encounter light to moderate winds. Sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate, posing minimal risks for maritime activities but still requiring caution from seafarers and coastal communities.
Public Advisory and Safety Precautions
PAGASA advises the public to remain vigilant, especially regarding possible sudden heavy rains and thunderstorms. Staying informed through official updates and taking necessary precautions, such as avoiding flood-prone areas and securing outdoor items, is crucial to ensure safety during these weather conditions.
