Tropical Depression Caloy Unlikely to Impact Philippine Weather, Forecasters Say
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has announced that a newly formed tropical depression, which developed on Wednesday afternoon, currently poses a minimal threat to the country's weather conditions. Weather specialist Benison Estareja provided this update during a live forecast, emphasizing that the cyclone remains far from Philippine landmasses.
Current Location and Forecast
As of the latest tracking, the tropical depression is positioned approximately 3,000 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao, placing it well outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Estareja noted that due to this considerable distance, the cyclone is unlikely to have any direct effect on local weather patterns at this time.
Generally fair weather continues to prevail across the nation, with only isolated rain showers possible due to localized thunderstorms. However, Estareja highlighted that the situation could evolve, as the cyclone, which will be named "Caloy" upon entering PAR, is projected to possibly move into the area by Thursday.

Over the next six days, the tropical depression has the potential to intensify, possibly reaching the severe tropical storm or even typhoon category.
