India Extends Humanitarian Support to Philippines for Typhoon Recovery Efforts

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), serving as the Vice-Chair for Disaster Response of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), has formally accepted a significant donation of non-food humanitarian assistance from the People and Government of India. This aid is designated for families impacted by the devastating Typhoons "Tino" and "Uwan", which struck the Philippines in November 2025, causing widespread destruction in areas like Pandan, Catanduanes.

In a ceremony held on Tuesday at Clark Airbase in Pampanga, Ambassador of India to the Philippines, His Excellency Shri Harsh Kumar Jain, presented the donated goods to Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe of the DSWD's Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG). Cajipe expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the Philippine Government, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and other involved agencies, emphasizing the importance of this international support in aiding affected Filipinos, particularly in Central Luzon.
