The successful operation was made possible by the hospital's newly acquired C-arm machine, which enables doctors to obtain real-time imaging guidance during surgical procedures. This modern technology facilitates safe and accurate visualization of the biliary tree through the use of special contrast dye.

The C-arm system clearly displays bile duct pathways, helps identify the location of gallstones, reduces the risk of damage to surrounding tissues, and ensures that no stones remain in the gallbladder after surgery. While commonly employed in bone operations, this equipment is now being utilized for various general surgical procedures, including C-arm guided closed tube thoracostomy.

LLCH currently employs the C-arm system for diverse interventional radiology services such as nephrostomy tube insertion, cholecystostomy tube placement, and percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage procedures.
