PCSO Enhances Bohol's Healthcare Infrastructure with Vital Ventilator Donation

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has significantly strengthened healthcare services in Bohol by distributing twelve mechanical ventilators to five government hospitals across the province. This strategic donation, delivered on Friday, March 20, 2026, aims to expand critical care capacity and ensure broader access to essential respiratory treatments for residents.

Distribution Across Key Healthcare Facilities

Under the PCSO's Medical Equipment Donation Program, the ventilators were allocated to Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in Talibon, Teodoro Galagar District Hospital in Jagna, Congressman Simeon Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen, Catigbian District Hospital, and Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital in Inabanga. Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital received six units, while Teodoro Galagar District Hospital obtained three. The remaining three hospitals each received one ventilator, ensuring a balanced distribution of resources.

Government Commitment to Accessible Healthcare

During the turnover ceremony, PCSO General Manager Melquiades “Mel” Robles emphasized that the donation reflects President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to bring government services directly to the people. "These are courtesy of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.," Robles stated. "He always reminds us that the government should go to the people." He further highlighted the agency's ongoing efforts to make quality healthcare more accessible, particularly in provincial areas, and stressed that assistance is provided fairly, without political bias. "We give the equipment for medical mobility, regardless of whether they voted for us or not," Robles affirmed.

Boosting Provincial Hospital Readiness

Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado warmly welcomed the donation, noting that the ventilators will enhance hospital preparedness for emergencies and future public health challenges. "This medical equipment will greatly help ensure that our people have access to quality healthcare services wherever they may be in Bohol," he said. The donated Resvent RV200 ventilators are portable units designed for versatility in clinical settings, including bedside care and patient transport. With 3-in-1 capability for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients, these devices can manage a wide spectrum of respiratory cases.

Advanced Features for Effective Patient Care

Each ventilator is equipped with multiple ventilation modes, real-time monitoring, a touchscreen interface, battery backup, adjustable oxygen delivery, and built-in safety features. These advanced functionalities empower frontline health workers to handle critical respiratory situations more efficiently and effectively, potentially saving lives in remote and underserved communities.

Additional Financial Support for Bohol

In addition to the ventilators, the PCSO also presented a check worth PHP277,940.92, representing Bohol's lotto shares for the period from July to December 2025. This financial contribution further supports the province's healthcare and development initiatives, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to community assistance.

This initiative underscores the PCSO's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring equitable access to medical resources across the Philippines, particularly in regions like Bohol where enhanced critical care capabilities are essential for public health resilience.
