An American national was killed after being shot by a fellow American inside a KTV bar in Barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete town, at around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The victim, identified only by the alias "Bry," was of legal age and resided in Barangay Atabay, Alcoy town. The suspect, identified by the alias "Way," 72, lives in Barangay Balud, Dalaguete.
Upon receiving a report, the Dalaguete Municipal Police Station immediately responded. Investigators found the victim lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the neck.
According to a witness from Purok 4, Barangay Coro, Dalaguete, the suspect suddenly arrived at the bar with his wife and, without any apparent reason, drew his weapon and shot the victim. Bry was rushed to Argao District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by doctors.
The suspect, along with his wife, immediately surrendered to the police. He also turned over a .45 caliber pistol believed to be the weapon used in the crime.
Police investigation revealed that personal grudge was the motive behind the incident. It was reported that the victim had repeatedly threatened to kill the suspect and his wife. Fearing for their lives, the suspect allegedly preempted the victim.
The Dalaguete police are now preparing murder charges against the suspect to be filed in court.
