Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill Brings a Taste of New York to Cebu
Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill has officially opened its doors at The North Wing of SM City Cebu, introducing a slice of New York's famed dining culture to the region. Founded by Wolfgang Zwiener in New York, this upscale restaurant specializes in melt-in-the-mouth steaks crafted from dry-aged USDA Prime Black Angus beef, sourced directly from the United States. The steaks are renowned globally and are considered among the best available locally.
Beyond steaks, the menu features iconic dishes such as the legendary NY Pastrami Sandwich, Short Rib Quesadillas, Baked Alaska, and the Peruvian favorite Parihuela. Additional offerings include grill specials, burgers, pasta, soups, and salads. Recently, a lively group of media influencers enjoyed a tasting session hosted by Raymond Magdaluyo, the lead partner of Wolfgang's Steakhouse Philippines. Dip Nikkei Celebrates International Women's Month with a Fusion Feast
In celebration of International Women's Month, Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, under the leadership of General Manager Dottie Wurgler, hosted a six-course dinner at its Michelin-selected restaurant, Dip Nikkei. This restaurant specializes in Peruvian-Japanese cuisine, blending Japanese cooking techniques and ingredients with Peruvian flavors and ingredients.
The dinner, dubbed Mar y Raices (Sea & Roots), was prepared by Peruvian Chef Rodrigo Serrano and offered a diverse and harmonious fusion menu. It highlighted the unique mix of Peruvian zest and warmth with Japanese discipline and precision. Dishes included Otoshi, Ceviche Bar, Sushi Bar, Pulpo & Andes, Shiro Miso & Cod, Seco de Carrillera, and Maracuya—Mango Coco. Attendees included Honey Loop, NGN, Dip Nikkei manager Francisco Tobar, Chef Serrano, GM Dottie Wurgler, director of sales and marketing Ruby Nepomuceno, Aissa Dela Cruz, and Chinggay Utzurrum, with a photo showing Chef Serrano in action as manager Tobar looked on.
Fairfield by Marriott Launches at Mahi Center in Mactan
A new addition to Mactan Island's hospitality landscape is Fairfield by Marriott, located at the Mahi Center within the Mactan Economic Zone 1. This nine-story building is the first Marriott-branded city hotel on the island, featuring 196 rooms, three meeting rooms, and a function room. Mahi Center is described as an integrated business and lifestyle destination.
The grand launch was a festive occasion attended by key figures including Bruce Winton, area general manager of Marriott Philippines, and representatives from the AppleOne Group, the property's developer. Upcoming Event: 'Grease' Musical at San Carlos Seminary
Adding to the weekend's excitement, the Rock n' Roll musical 'Grease' will be staged at the San Carlos Seminary College audio-visual room on April 24, 25, and 26, 2026. Directed by the experienced Benjie Diola, this 2026 adaptation of the highly-rated musical aims to benefit the seminary's operations and development projects. Showtimes are set for matinee at 2 p.m. and gala at 7 p.m., promising entertainment for a good cause.
