The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Advisory Council is organizing a meaningful running event called "Dagan Bayanihan" scheduled for November 29, 2025, at the Cebu Business Park. This run for a cause aims to bring together fitness enthusiasts and community supporters for a noble purpose.
Event Details and Race Categories
Dagan Bayanihan will feature three race categories to accommodate runners of different skill levels. Participants can choose between the 12-kilometer, 8-kilometer, and 4-kilometer distances. The technical aspects of the race will be managed by Coco Running under Joel Juarez, ensuring a professionally organized event.
Registration fees have been set at P1,000 for the 12K, P800 for the 8K, and P600 for the 4K. Each registration package includes a race bib, event shirt, finisher medal, and raffle ticket, providing excellent value for participants while supporting a worthy cause.
Fundraising Goals and Purpose
According to Marlinda Angbetic Tan, chairperson of the Cebu City Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development, the proceeds from this fun run will be used to establish a command center located at the rooftop of the CCPO camp. The initiative represents a significant step toward enhancing police services in Cebu City.
"We aim to raise sufficient funds through this fundraising activity to purchase state-of-the-art facilities that will improve the quality of police service in Cebu City," Tan explained. The command center project is expected to modernize police operations and response capabilities.
Community Impact and Participation
Police authorities are encouraging running enthusiasts and fitness advocates to participate in Dagan Bayanihan. The event offers a dual benefit: participants can maintain their physical fitness while contributing to a project that will ultimately enhance public safety and police efficiency.
The November 29, 2025 event promises to be more than just a running competition—it represents a collaborative effort between law enforcement and the community through the spirit of bayanihan, the Filipino tradition of communal unity and cooperation.
