Tragedy Strikes Toledo City Beach

A 28-year-old man with epilepsy drowned while swimming in the waters of Sitio Tubig, Barangay Matab-ang, Toledo City on Saturday morning, November 8, 2025. The victim was identified as Ace Carl Cabajar, a resident of Sitio Maraat in the same barangay.

Discovery and Emergency Response

The Toledo City Police Station received a report from a concerned citizen about a drowning incident in the area around 11:00 AM. Police immediately responded to investigate the situation.

According to the victim's mother, her son had left their home at approximately 8:30 AM to go to the shoreline. Just two and a half hours later, at around 11:15 AM, neighbors informed her that her son had drowned.

Medical Condition and Possible Cause

Police investigation revealed that Cabajar had a pre-existing medical condition of epilepsy. His mother believes that while her son was swimming, he likely experienced an epileptic seizure that caused him to drown.

Emergency responders attempted to revive the victim by rushing him to Toledo City Hospital. Unfortunately, the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
