Cebu's Premier Wedding Expo Celebrates Fifth Year with Celebrity Insights and Fashion
More than 90 wedding exhibitors gathered for "The Brides at Triton Wedding Expo 2026," marking its fifth year at Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark in Cebu. This event has solidified its reputation as one of the region's premier wedding expos, attracting couples and families from March 21 to 22. Attendees explored curated services, exclusive deals, and creative concepts that reflect the evolving nature of modern weddings.
Insights from a Celebrity Couple
Guests of honor Melai Cantiveros-Francisco and Jason Francisco shared real-life perspectives on marriage during an onstage interview. Melai, reflecting on over 13 years of marriage, emphasized the depth that develops beyond the honeymoon phase. "When you first get married, you'll be in the honeymoon phase for a while, but along the way, it becomes much deeper than that," she said. "You realize why God gave you to each other. In my 13 years of being married to Jason, I realized we both learned immensely from each other and that made us fall deeply for each other."
Jason described love as a daily commitment rather than a constant feeling. "Being married doesn't mean you're in love every day," he noted. "But as long as you stay and keep doing your best, that's real love. You experience a different kind of love every day." Their candid exchange resonated with attendees, reinforcing a central theme of the expo: that marriage is sustained by shared purpose and the conscious decision to grow together.
Evolving Platform for Creative Ideas
Anders Hallden, vice president for operations and general manager of Jpark, highlighted the expo's evolution. "Weddings today are no longer simple occasions, but deeply personal journeys shared with family and loved ones," he said. "The Brides at Triton keeps evolving as a wedding expo. It is now becoming a platform for creative ideas and personal stories to come together." Beyond displays and planning essentials, the event focused on fostering connections and inspiration for couples.
Fashion Show Highlights Local Designers
Complementing the expo was a Fashion Show featuring designers Chynna Mamawal, Jaki Peñalosa, Axel Que, and SCI PH. Each collection presented a distinct narrative:
- Traditional white bridal wear and locally inspired textiles.
- Avant-garde pieces drawing subtle references from church architecture.
- Accessible designs by SCI PH aimed at delivering a complete bridal experience without compromising creativity.
The runway show added a vibrant visual element, showcasing the diversity and innovation in wedding fashion.
Celebrating Shared Life and Commitment
As it celebrates its fifth year, Jpark's "The Brides at Triton" continues to emphasize that weddings are more than a single day of celebration. They mark the beginning of a shared life shaped by intention, choice, and commitment. With Melai's signature humor and the event's focus on real relationships, the expo captured the spirit of modern matrimony, offering both practical resources and heartfelt inspiration for couples embarking on their journeys together.
