Fake Police Official Arrested in Bacolod City Sting Operation
Bacolod City police successfully apprehended a man who had been impersonating a police official and was allegedly involved in multiple robbery extortion cases. The arrest occurred during a carefully planned entrapment operation conducted on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
The operation took place outside the Days Inn Hotel in Golden Field, Barangay Singcang-Airport, where police operatives captured the suspect identified only as alias "John", who also went by the name "Police Major Calsado".
Details of the Arrest and Evidence Recovered
According to Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) records, the 38-year-old suspect from Koronadal City, South Cotabato was arrested at approximately 12:45 p.m. by combined operatives from the City Intelligence Unit and Police Station 8.
The arrest followed numerous complaints about extortion activities totaling P700,000, where the suspect allegedly used his fake police major identity to deceive victims.
Police confiscated several items from the suspect's possession including:
- P3,000 in cash
- P18,000 in boodle money
- A cellular phone
- A Mitsubishi Mirage vehicle
Charges Filed and Police Statement
The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8 and will face formal charges of robbery extortion and usurpation of authority.
BCPO reiterated its strong commitment to protecting the public from individuals who exploit law enforcement identities for criminal activities. The police office assured the community that all violators would be held fully accountable under the law.
Related Drug Bust Operations in Bacolod
In separate anti-drug operations conducted on November 28 and 29, BCPO also made significant progress in combating illegal drugs. Police seized an estimated P986,000 worth of substances believed to be shabu during these coordinated busts.
The drug operations led to the arrest of three additional suspects:
- Alias "Mar", 22, from Purok Malipayon, Barangay 12
- Alias "Fran", 18, from Barangay Estefania
- Alias "Ann", 26, from Barangay Tangub
According to police reports, alias "Mar" was arrested by Police Station 2 operatives after he sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover officer in Purok Narra Bay Bay, Barangay 8 around 12:15 a.m. on November 29.
Authorities recovered from this suspect:
- Several sachets of shabu weighing 65 grams with estimated value of P442,000
- P11,000 in boodle money
- A sling bag
- P500 in cash
The other two suspects, aliases "Fran" and "Ann", were arrested by Police Station 8 operatives in Purok Villa, Barangay Tangub at 9:17 p.m. on November 28. Police confiscated from them several sachets of shabu weighing 88 grams with estimated market value of P544,000, along with marked money and a wallet.
All drug suspects are currently detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2 and 8 and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9164 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
