Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla has confirmed that he has signed the dismissal order against former Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Mao Aplasca. The order is expected to be released anytime, according to Remulla.

Background of the Case

Aplasca, a 2-Star General, has been under preventive suspension without pay for six months following a controversial shooting incident inside the Senate on the evening of May 13, 2026. The incident was alleged to be a diversion to facilitate the escape of Senator Ronald Dela Rosa.

Ombudsman's Statement

In an interview, Remulla stated that he had already signed the dismissal order and that it would be released shortly. He emphasized that the order was necessary and within the authority of the Ombudsman to issue dismissal orders against public officials.
