Comprehensive Services for Community Well-being

Operating under the theme “Army CARES: Bayanihan Para sa Kalusugan,” the fair was part of the broader Nationwide Civic Action for Resiliency, Empowerment, and Security (CARES) Program. The goal was to enhance community health and foster collaboration to reach underserved populations.

In partnership with the Philippine General Council of the Assemblies of God (PGCAG), led by Reverend Samuel Bontilao, the activity offered a wide range of free services:

  • Dental extractions
  • Optical check-ups with free prescription eyeglasses
  • General medical consultations
  • Circumcision procedures
  • Stress management counseling sessions

Leadership Highlights Commitment to Peace and Progress

Major General Leonardo Peña, the commander of the 11th Infantry Division, emphasized the program's deeper purpose in a statement released on Sunday, December 7. He stated that the fair reflects a shared commitment to hope, compassion, and community care.

“Through Army Cares, we continue building healthier and more resilient communities,” Peña said. “Let us nurture our well-being and pursue learning, for these are foundations of lasting peace and progress.” He also extended gratitude to all partner agencies and volunteers for their crucial support.

The local government expressed strong appreciation for the military's efforts. Indanan Mayor Al-Bakil Jikiri acknowledged the impact of the Army's sustained presence, stating it brings “comfort, stability, and hope to our people.” He specifically thanked the Alakdan Division for its “compassion and dedication.”

Major General Peña reaffirmed that the Army CARES Program will continue to be a vehicle for championing community health, resilience, and security. The initiative focuses on working hand-in-hand with stakeholders to uplift the welfare of people within the Army's area of responsibility.
