Authorities acted on a search warrant issued by Judge Judilyn Hugo Tapia-Menchavez of the RTC Branch 7 in Toledo City, related to violations of Republic Act 10591, which governs illegal possession of firearms.

According to Police Lt. Col. Ruel Burlat, chief of the Balamban Police Station, the operation was conducted at 6:14 AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. The raid was witnessed by barangay officials and members of the media, ensuring transparency in the enforcement action.

Recovery of Firearms and Ammunition During the Operation

During the search, police recovered significant evidence, including:

  • One .357 revolver, described as a "paltik" or improvised firearm.
  • Six live rounds of ammunition.
