Cebu Police Arrest 250+ in Anti-Crime Ops, Seize P2.4M Drugs

In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) has reported the arrest of more than 250 suspects involved in illegal drugs during a month-long Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (Sacleo). The intensive campaign spanned from 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2026, to 12:00 midnight on January 31, 2026, showcasing a robust law enforcement effort across the province.

Major Drug Busts and Seizures

Over the 31-day period, police authorities conducted 193 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the apprehension of 252 drug personalities. This group included 235 drug pushers and 17 drug users, highlighting a targeted approach to dismantling drug networks. During these operations, law enforcement seized a substantial amount of narcotics, including 357.28 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2,429,504, along with marijuana leaves valued at P480.

Warrants Served and Firearms Recovered

Beyond drug-related activities, the CPPO executed 168 warrants of arrest across 154 operations, leading to the capture of 151 wanted persons. Additionally, the police intensified their campaign against loose firearms, recovering 34 weapons. Of these, 26 firearms were voluntarily surrendered by owners, while 34 individuals were arrested and charged in connection with illegal possession.

Crackdown on Illegal Gambling

The anti-criminality drive also extended to combating illegal gambling, with police conducting 63 operations that resulted in the arrest of 115 individuals. Authorities confiscated P24,192 in gambling money, underscoring a comprehensive strategy to address various forms of illicit activities in Cebu.

This month-long operation reflects the CPPO's commitment to enhancing public safety and reducing crime rates in the province, with significant seizures and arrests marking a notable achievement in law enforcement efforts.
