P681K Shabu Seized in Naga, Cebu Drug Raids; One Arrested, One Escapes
Major Drug Bust in Naga, Cebu Nets P681K in Shabu

Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7), in a coordinated operation with the Naga City Police Station, conducted two consecutive drug raids in Naga City, Cebu, on Sunday morning, December 7, 2025. The operations, backed by court-issued search warrants, targeted separate residences and resulted in the confiscation of a significant volume of suspected shabu.

Dawn Raids Yield High-Value Contraband

The first raid was executed at 7:23 AM in Purok Centro 2, Barangay Langtad. The target of the operation, an individual known by the alias "Makmak," managed to evade arrest after reportedly noticing the presence of the authorities in the area. Despite the suspect's escape, operatives were able to enter the residence and recover three large packs of suspected shabu weighing approximately 80 grams. The illegal drugs have an estimated street value of P544,000.

Minutes later, at 7:32 AM, a second team moved in on a house in Purok Sagay, Sityo Kalubihan, Barangay Tuyan. This operation proved successful, leading to the arrest of a 60-year-old suspect identified as "Jojo," a resident of the area. A thorough search of his property yielded substantial evidence.

Evidence and Case Buildup

From the suspect's home in Barangay Tuyan, authorities confiscated seven packets of suspected shabu with a total weight of 100.2 grams. The narcotics have an estimated average market value of P681,360. Additionally, operatives seized four strips of tin foil with suspected shabu residue and a cellular phone.

Leia Alcantara, the information officer for PDEA-7, revealed that the operations were the result of a three-week case buildup following a tip from a confidential informant. Intelligence suggested that the suspects were capable of selling between 50 to 100 grams of shabu per week, which they sourced from a supplier.

All confiscated evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for formal chemical analysis. Authorities are now preparing the appropriate criminal charges against the arrested individual and the fugitive suspect.
