Top Fugitive Apprehended in Coordinated Police Operation
In a significant victory for law enforcement, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) successfully apprehended the region's number one most wanted person on November 20, 2025. The arrest took place at Hacienda Santa Catalina in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, marking the culmination of a targeted manhunt.
Details of the Arrest and Charges
Authorities identified the suspect as a 36-year-old man known by the alias "BoyBoy," a resident of the aforementioned village and a farm caretaker by occupation. According to Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, chief of the PRO-NIR Public Information Office, the arrest was executed based on a warrant for the crime of Act of Lasciviousness under the Revised Penal Code (RPC Art. 336). This charge is in relation to Section 5(B) of Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The operation was a joint effort involving operatives from the Talisay City Police Station and the 2nd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Negros Island Region. Malong detailed that the suspect was accused of dragging a minor into a sugarcane plantation, molesting her, and then threatening to kill her if she ever reported the traumatic incident.
