Nearly P1M in Illegal Drugs Seized in Cebu and Mandaue Operations
P1M Drugs Seized in Cebu, Mandaue; 3 Arrested

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7, together with the police, seized nearly one million pesos worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu City and Mandaue on Saturday, May 9, 2026, resulting in the arrest of three individuals.

First Operation in Cebu City

The first suspect, alias Negro, 40, a resident of Jumalon Street, Barangay Basak Pardo, Cebu City, was arrested at around 11:35 a.m. Confiscated from him were two large packs of shabu weighing 55 grams with an estimated average market value of P374,000, a caliber 45 firearm with three bullets, a cellphone, and buy-bust money.

Second Operation in Mandaue City

At around 3:25 p.m., another anti-illegal drug operation was launched by PDEA Mandaue together with Station 3 of the Mandaue City Police Office in Sitio Homeowners, Barangay Tipolo, which led to the arrest of siblings alias Fermin, 29, and alias Billy, 34, both residents of the area. Operatives recovered seven packs of suspected shabu weighing 60 grams worth P408,000, buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are currently detained at the PDEA 7 detention facility and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
