Drug Bust in Lanao del Norte Nets P238,000 Worth of Shabu
Law enforcement authorities arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized approximately P238,000 worth of illegal drugs during a law enforcement operation in Lanao del Norte, the police reported on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
Police Colonel Leo De Leon Sua, director of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office, identified the arrested suspect as alias Nonoy, 50 years old. Nonoy was listed as the fifth priority target at the regional level.
The arrest took place on Saturday, May 9, at around 6:10 a.m. in Purok 8, Samburon village, Linamon, Lanao del Norte, through the service of a search warrant.
Seized during the operation were 35 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P238,000, along with various illegal drug paraphernalia.
Colonel Sua confirmed that the suspect and the confiscated evidence were brought to the Linamon Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition. The suspect will face charges for violations of Sections 11 and 12 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“This accomplishment reflects the sustained commitment in intensifying our campaign against illegal drugs. The arrest of a suspect and the confiscation of a significant volume of suspected shabu demonstrate the dedication, professionalism, and coordinated efforts of our operating units,” Sua stated.
The search warrant operation was a joint effort by personnel from the Lanao del Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Linamon Municipal Police Station, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit.
Sua emphasized that they will continue to strengthen law enforcement operations to ensure safer and more secure communities throughout Lanao del Norte province.
