In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 has apprehended a total of twelve individuals across a series of coordinated anti-drug operations and search warrant executions in Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City on February 20 and 21, 2026. The operations led to the dismantling of multiple drug dens and the confiscation of substantial quantities of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value exceeding six hundred five thousand pesos.
Lapu-Lapu City Operation Nets Senior Citizen and Associates
The most recent action occurred at 9:10 PM on Saturday, February 21, when the PDEA-Lapu-Lapu City Team, in collaboration with Station 3 of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, raided a drug den in Purok Acacia, Barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City. This operation resulted in the arrest of five persons, including one senior citizen.
PDEA-7 Director Joel Plaza identified the primary target of the raid as alias "Manoy Bords," a 64-year-old carpenter who allegedly operated the drug den and resides at the location. Four other individuals were caught inside the den: alias "Makmak," a 29-year-old construction painter from Poblacion; alias "Vinsoy," 31, from Basak, Lapu-Lapu; and aliases "Rence," 18, and "Kyle," 20, both parking boys from Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City.
Authorities seized eight packets of suspected shabu weighing approximately six grams, with an estimated value of P40,800. The evidence has been forwarded to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for comprehensive chemical analysis.
Cebu City Raids Target High-Value Individuals and Drug Dens
Simultaneously, seven additional suspects were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations and the execution of two search warrants in Cebu City on Friday, February 20.
Buy-Bust Operation in Inayawan
At 10:40 PM, PDEA 7's Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), alongside personnel from the Inayawan Police Station, conducted a buy-bust operation in Sitio Kaluwasan, Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City. The operation targeted a high-value individual identified as alias "Siyoy," a 31-year-old e-bike driver residing in the area.
From Siyoy, operatives confiscated sixteen packets of suspected shabu weighing around fifty-seven grams, with an estimated market value of P387,600, including the buy-bust money used in the sting.
Search Warrants Executed in Sambag 2
Earlier that evening at 7:55 PM, PDEA 7 and the PNP Regional Intelligence Unit served a search warrant at a residence in Sitio Riverside, Barangay Sambag 2, leading to the dismantling of a drug den. Arrested were alias "Lowell," 37, and three individuals found inside: aliases "Clark," 23; "Chini," 31; and "Noel," 51, all residents of Barangay Sambag 2.
Eleven packets of suspected shabu weighing approximately eleven grams, valued at P74,800, were seized, along with various drug paraphernalia and a weighing scale.
Subsequently, at 8:10 PM in the same vicinity, another drug den was targeted with a search warrant by PDEA, resulting in the arrest of three persons and the seizure of illegal substances. The operation's primary target was alias "Ana," 34, with two others caught in the act of using shabu: aliases "Engelbert," a 44-year-old construction worker, and "Edward," a 46-year-old construction painter, both from Sambag 2.
Thirteen packets of shabu weighing about fifteen grams, worth P102,000, were confiscated, in addition to a cellphone and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Legal Proceedings and Custody
All suspects are currently facing charges filed by PDEA 7 and have been detained at the custodial facility in Sudlon, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City. The operations underscore the agency's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse in the Central Visayas region, targeting both operators and users in urban communities.
