PNP Forensic Group Submits Senate Shooting Findings

The Forensic Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has completed its investigation into the shooting incident at the Senate on May 13, and has submitted its findings to the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Investigation Details

According to PNP Forensic Group Director Col. Pierre Paul Carpio, all angles at the crime scene have been matched, along with various pieces of evidence. The official also presented a 3D scan of the incident and the trajectory of bullets in the hallway. Based on the analysis, all bullet holes originated from gunshots recorded inside the building.

Crime Scene Analysis

During the crime scene examination, the group used a blue box to illustrate the full extent of the crime scene and how the Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) was conducted. The CIDG earlier released CCTV footage showing suspended Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Mao Aplasca as the first to fire a gun, prompting a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agent to return fire.
