Police Regional Office 3 Ramps Up Anti-Crime Operations Across Central Luzon
The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) has announced a significant escalation in its campaign targeting illegal drugs and smuggling activities throughout Central Luzon. Under the leadership of newly-installed director Brigadier General Jess Mendez, law enforcement efforts have yielded substantial results in recent operations.
Major Drug and Contraband Seizures Reported
According to official reports, anti-criminality operations conducted across the region have led to the confiscation of illegal drugs with a total estimated value of ₱2,959,455.22. These prohibited substances were recovered through coordinated buy-bust operations and the execution of search warrants by various provincial and city police stations operating under PRO-3's jurisdiction.
In addition to the drug seizures, authorities also disclosed the recovery of smuggled cigarettes valued at ₱158,129. Brigadier General Mendez emphasized that this intensified anti-smuggling initiative aligns directly with directives from Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Remulla Jr., who has called for stronger enforcement measures against illicit trades throughout the country.
Strategic Enforcement and Community Partnership
Mendez attributed these accomplishments to intelligence-driven operations and sustained enforcement efforts conducted under the Philippine National Police's Focused Agenda. "These efforts are anchored on strategic enforcement and community partnership," Mendez stated. "Our objective is not only to confiscate contraband, but to protect communities from the broader harm caused by illegal drugs and illicit trade."
The regional police director highlighted that the operations represent a comprehensive approach to public safety that combines:
- Intelligence gathering and analysis
- Coordinated enforcement actions across multiple jurisdictions
- Community engagement and partnership initiatives
- Sustained pressure on criminal networks
Continued Commitment to Public Safety
Brigadier General Mendez assured residents of Central Luzon that operations targeting illegal drugs, smuggling, and other criminal activities will continue unabated. This ongoing campaign forms part of PRO-3's broader commitment to public safety and institutional professionalism within the Philippine National Police framework.
The intensified operations come at a time when law enforcement agencies nationwide are working to strengthen their capabilities against organized crime and illicit trade networks. The substantial seizures reported by PRO-3 demonstrate both the scale of the challenge and the effectiveness of coordinated police action when properly resourced and strategically implemented.
As the campaign progresses, authorities anticipate further disruptions to criminal operations throughout Central Luzon, with particular focus on dismantling distribution networks and preventing the flow of illegal substances and contraband into communities across the region.
