The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) has ramped up its campaign against wanted persons, loose firearms, and illegal drugs, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, recovery of firearms and explosives, and drug busts across the region on May 23-24, 2026.
Arrest of Wanted Persons
Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño, acting regional director of PRO 6, announced that intensified manhunt operations led to the apprehension of two wanted individuals, including a regional-level Most Wanted Person from the Calabarzon region who had allegedly been hiding for 31 years.
“Our sustained operations against wanted persons, loose firearms, and illegal drugs reflect PRO 6’s unwavering commitment to protect the people of Western Visayas from all forms of criminality,” Tuaño stated.
Surrender of Firearms and Explosives
The anti-criminality campaign also resulted in the voluntary surrender of eight firearms and two explosives. This initiative aims to prevent the use of unlicensed weapons in criminal activities and enhance community safety throughout the region.
Anti-Drug Operations
In a separate series of buy-bust operations, PRO 6 arrested three individuals and confiscated approximately 16 grams of suspected shabu, valued at PHP 108,800 based on the standard drug price. The suspects are now in police custody and face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Commitment to Safer Communities
Tuaño emphasized the ongoing commitment to improve law enforcement efforts while strengthening collaboration with the community. The objective is to create a safer, more secure, and peaceful region. Under his leadership, PRO 6 remains dedicated to its operational thrust of responsive, trusted, and transformative policing for a safer Western Visayas.
