PRO 7 Implements Heightened Security for ASEAN Summit in Central Visayas
The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 has announced that it will maintain a safe and peaceful environment in Central Visayas as the region prepares to host delegates for the ASEAN Summit in Bohol and Cebu. This proactive security initiative aims to ensure smooth operations and protect all participants during the high-profile international event.
Strict Security Measures in Bohol and Cebu
In Bohol Province, stringent police security will be enforced until January 31, 2026, to guarantee that all ASEAN Summit activities proceed without disruptions. Meanwhile, the ASEAN meeting in Cebu is scheduled to take place from January 25 to 31, 2026. PRO 7 has deployed additional personnel to provide comprehensive security coverage for all delegates attending these gatherings.
Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, the chief of PRO 7, emphasized the critical role of law enforcement in achieving peace and order during the summit. He called on the public to cooperate with authorities to ensure the safety of international guests. "Maintaining peace and order is a shared responsibility. The discipline and understanding of our communities allow PRO7 to secure our international guests without disrupting daily activities," stated Maranan.
Community Cooperation and Monitoring
The implementation of tight security will be closely monitored by PRO 7 through coordination with local government units and other government agencies. This collaborative approach ensures that security protocols are effectively managed and any potential issues are promptly addressed.
Maranan expressed gratitude to the residents of Bohol and Cebu provinces for their patience and cooperation. He highlighted how the community's discipline has been instrumental in prioritizing the security of visitors from other nations. Through vigilant monitoring, professionalism, and strong community partnerships, PRO 7 is confident that Central Visayas will remain safe for both guests and local residents throughout the ASEAN Summit period.
