P10 Million Bounty for Atong Ang Could Be Increased, Says DILG Secretary
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is considering a potential increase in the P10 million reward offered for information that leads to the arrest of businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang. DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla emphasized that the current bounty will be given unconditionally to anyone providing tips directly resulting in Ang's capture.
Ang Labeled as Top Most Wanted in the Philippines
Remulla has declared Atong Ang as the number one most wanted individual in the country due to his alleged involvement in the deaths of over 100 missing cockfighters. This high-profile case has drawn significant attention from law enforcement agencies, who are intensifying efforts to locate him.
Authorities Pursue Leads in Cambodia and Local Hideouts
Preliminary information from a whistleblower suggests that Ang might be in Cambodia, specifically near the border with Thailand. However, Secretary Remulla stated that authorities still believe he could be within the Philippines. If Ang has fled abroad, it is suspected he used a backdoor route, as confirmed by the Bureau of Immigration that he did not exit through any official airport or seaport.
To date, operations have been conducted at 14 possible hideouts, including locations in Cavite and Pampanga, but Ang remains at large. The ongoing manhunt involves multiple agencies coordinating to track down the fugitive businessman.
