They clearly explained the Five Pillars of Wikipedia, emphasizing writing from a neutral point of view, free content, respect for contributors, and adherence to a set of fundamental principles.
A core message from the speakers was an encouragement for participants to share their own Cebuano heritage and local history. They stressed that one does not need to be a global expert to contribute. Hands-On Training for Digital Contributors
Students received practical training on how to edit and update Wikipedia articles using reliable sources. They were also introduced to Wikimedia Commons, the free media repository where they can upload photos for use across Wikipedia and related projects.
