The office of Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa confirmed on Monday, May 11, 2026, that personnel from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) delivered a subpoena related to the investigation into alleged extrajudicial killings, but it was not signed.
The CIDG only left a copy of the document. According to a staff member, they received the copy but it is not considered officially accepted because there was no instruction from the senator.
Police Captain Larry Ray, who delivered the subpoena, said the PNP-CIDG still considers the document delivered after staff accepted the copy, but they refused to sign. Ray also warned that there could be legal consequences if Dela Rosa fails to comply with the subpoena, including the possibility of being cited for indirect contempt.
The subpoena orders Dela Rosa to appear before investigators at Camp Crame in Quezon City on May 14 to give a sworn statement and submit documents related to the investigation.
According to the CIDG, the investigation covers the circumstances and details of alleged extrajudicial killings in the Davao Region based on hearings of the House of Representatives Quad Committee and revelations by retired SPO3 Arturo Lascañas in public interviews.
Dela Rosa has not attended the Senate since November 2025 after reports emerged of an alleged arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court related to the Duterte administration's war on drugs.
